23

Hi! I know it's been months again, and I really just had this period when I got so lazy to write, and I just focused my energies on other priorities such as school, and also tracking some items for my upcoming business. But now, hopefully, I'll start making more time for this baby, my blog. So, recently, I actually turned 23. 23!!! It feels weird for me to say that I am in this age already because I feel like nothing much has changed in my life. And I really am child-like ever since, so I still feel like I'm 16 deep inside. I guess more than anything, the thought of being or acting more like an adult and having accomplishments in the real world scares me because I know it's still a far fetched goal in the making. Anyway, I don't want this to make a sad post or anything, but here's to another year of getting older, and hopefully a lot wiser in my decisions. :)

Here are some pics that I took during my birthday lunch at Kai Greenbelt :)

Much love,
Nikki

Beauty Buy: Nyx Liquid Suede

A lot of my posts have been about recent lipstick finds, and this is certainly no exemption :) To be honest, I used to have a very neutral feeling towards Nyx itself. I've tried the soft matte lip creams before, and I didn't really love those for quite a few reasons. However, there is a part of me that really wants to try out the other products and see if some  would fortunately be part of my beauty favourites.

The first time I encountered the Nyx Liquid Suede was through online when I was just randomly scrolling through my Facebook Feed, and saw a post featuring the different swatches of this lipstick line. Then and there, I told myself that I would want to try out at least one lipstick from that line, ifever it would be available here in the country. And just last week, the lipstick gods have paved the way for me to buy this item! Sadly, it wasn't part of the sale even if it was lipstick festival during that time in SM Beauty Store, but I still had this strong urge to buy one and I gave in to that haha. I decided to buy the Nyx Liquid Suede in 07 or Sandstorm.

I'm glad that I decided to give this a try because it is so much better than the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams, in my opinion. I actually asked the saleslady about the difference between the soft matte line and the liquid suede line, but she just told me that they're pretty much the same. However, now that I've tried it, I can say that well aside from the fact that it is bigger, it also doesn't have that strong scent. Lipstick scents are deal breakers for me. There are drugstore lipsticks that have a scent, but it would be fine with me as long as it wouldn't be  overpowering. Other than that, when it comes to the issue of dryness, I have tried a few liquid lipsticks from other brands before, but it would really be THAT DRYING. In this case, it sets really matte, but I don't find it to be Sahara dessert levels of drying, pretty much  tolerable for someone like me who has dry lips but loves matte lipsticks.
Overall, I'm really glad that I bought this lipstick. It's something that I could wear for times wherein I don't want my lipstick to be too loud. I generally don't like to wear nude lipsticks, but I do see myself wearing this shade few times a month maybe hihi. But, definitely, this is something worthy to try and  see if it could be part of your kikay kit! :)

Much love,
Nikki

Beauty Buy : Maybelline Lip Gradation

How's your week starting so far? I just bought some really good items for sale right now. Thank goodness, sales were invented!  Ahhhh I think I'm pretty much the type of person who goes out of my way to the store immediately once I hear there's a markdown of their products.

One recent beauty find of mine is something that I bought on sale! When I was younger, one of the beauty brands that I've really had the chance to try was Maybelline! I think it's pretty normal for girls to have a Maybelline product in their bags at a certain point in their lives. Honestly, I think my curiosity has led me to try other brands for a while, thus losing my interest for this brand for quite a while. However, what I really appreciate about this brand is the fact that it releases new products from time to time to keep up with the current trends in the industry. I've read several reviews about the lip gradation line, but I only somehow got to try it recently because I've been trying to have a lipstick ban on myself, but well sale eh!And boy am I glad that I decided to buy these lippies!!

I would probably go out on a limb and say that this line offers some of the best drugstore lipsticks ever. And for me, the best lipstick line from Maybelline. I initially first bought the Mauve1, but when I realized how good it is, I bought the Orange one a week after even if I have a few orange lippies right now - sulitin kasi sale pa rin hehe. I'm personally not a fan of the gradient lip, so I don't get the chance to use this for that effect, so I just apply it as a pure lipstick. And can I just say, application is already easier, since the shape of this lipstick is much thinner, and I get to apply it to some gaps easily. In addiition, I love how pigmented these lippies are! Also, I actually had the opportunity to try some Maybelline lipsticks before, and one thing that I don't necessarily love is the scent. That is why, I'm really glad that the lip gradation lippies doesn't have a scent. Yay :)

I really love lipsticks with orange shades. This one is my new favorite shade right now.
Meanwhile, the Mauve shade I heard is similar to Mac's Whirl. Haven't tried that shade yet, but what I can say about this is that it's good enough for everyday wear and for job interviews!

Overall, I just really love the lip gradation line and I am just controlling myself not to buy any other shades- maybe if I get a job pretty soon, I'll buy more shades hehe!

Much love,
Nikki

Sunday routine

Sunday routine from nikki cea on Vimeo.

One morning, I had a chat with my mummy J about the things that I could make a video about and she suggested this one. I have always wanted to make a video of sorts of how one day in my life is so that I could always look back at this day, at this current moment in time ifever I have a different perspective on how to spend my time someday! Honestly, I'm really a habit of creature, and if I do get used to a certain way of doing things, I'll just end up doing it over and over again, leaving little space to go out of my comfort zone. I am slowly changing some things from time to time to challenge myself to leave that zone a bit. Anyway sorry for the silliness of this video, but this would really pretty much give a glimpse of how I am in real life hahaha. :)

Beauty Buy : Pond's Washable Cold Cream

Growing up in the province, I remember it was such a struggle to find a good product that could effectively remove make-up. One of the reasons that also contributed to the dilemma was that back then, there wasn't a lot to choose from, in the first place. But now, it's a completely different story. There's just many products to choose from, from different brands from different countries.

My ultimate favorite make-up remover would be Bifesta's Micellar Water. However, when I do need something stronger to wipe out waterproof makeup such as heavy duty liquid lippies, this recent discovery of mine does the job pretty well. Pond's washable cold cream is a product from Japan, but luckily, it's currently available in Watsons :) One of the things that I really love about this is the fact that it contains Witch Hazel, which simply has many uses for the skin.

What I do is that I apply a scoop out a generous amount using a cotton bud/spatula, then place it all over my face. Afterwards, I remove the make-up using cotton, then I wash it off since it's washable anyways. Right after that, I proceed with my usual cleansing routine. Let me be the one to tell you that it's good enough for my liquid lipsticks, which are such a pain to remove! So this product is really worth the price and the jar is really big, so it might take a while before you consume an entire one.
Much love,

Mummies in BGC Video

Mummies in BGC from nikki cea on Vimeo.

Mummies' Sundate at BGC

I miss college, I miss the thrill of dressing up everyday, going to school to meet up with your closest friends, and learning new things from different classes. I may not be able to bring back time, but luckily, I have one college treasure -- my mummy J! Haha. Yesterday, we decided to have a quick OOTD shoot since we missed it a lot. The weather turned out to be not so great, so we had to shoot pretty quick, and it seemed like we are back to square one. We're no longer used to the whole OOTD shoot, just like what we did before when we were in college. I'm hoping we can get back into it soon hehe. I'll just be sharing some of the pictures that were taken yesterday in BGC. We decided to have a snack at SaladStop, and afterwards, we had our OOTD shoot around Burgos Circle, then for our last stop, at the Bus Stop haha!

I had the Go Geisha salad wrap. :)
Mummy's order which was so yumyyyy

Lipstick Buy : Mac All Fired Up

I know, I know...another lipstick post!I think it's pretty clear by now that I have a love affair with lipsticks, especially matte ones. One of the matte lipsticks that I've been trying to get a hold on for such a long time is Mac's All Fired Up, which is a retro matte. Luckily, I can now say that I am an owner of this lipstick shade. It's no secret that I love pink red shades, and initially, before having this lipstick, I know a lot of people are saying that it's a very close shade to Mac's Relentlessly Red, which is my favorite pinkred shade afterall. But upon trying this out, I've realized that this is way more darker, more red than pink.  There are some days wherein I don't know if this is exactly the perfect shade for my warm tone, but I guess I'll have to work my way around it. Probably I'll try to experiment more on a blush that would be go well when I wear this lipstick.

I have to say that I'm not THAT crazy about this shade anymore at this point, in the sense that I'll consider purchasing one again in sometime future. But maybe it's just the fact that I already have it, because you know that feeling when you already have a product that you've wanted for so long, and when you have it, you just don't see it of much importance anymore lol. It's still a pretty shade, of course! Maybe I'll just rediscover my love for it on some point hahahah.

Much love,
Nikki

No Worries, No Drought

Can you believe we're already halfway through the year? Crazy, right?! I've been spending a lot of time thinking about getting a year older, and thinking of what I'm actually doing with my life. Drama aside, let me quickly share with you a recent good discovery when it comes to the hair department since I've been posting a lot about lipsticks, I should be talking about something else for a change haha!

As a matter of fact,  I don't think I've tried a lot of dry shampoos in the first place. But, I've tried this one quite recently since my mom bought it but left it at the condo. Lush's No Drought Dry Shampoo is heaven sent for people like me who get really sweat a lot, and if you don't have enough time to shampoo your hair, then this is perfect for you. I've read that shampooing your hair everyday is actually bad, but I still do it anyways, but just in case you are one of those people who like to skip the use of the traditional shampoo, or can't shower your hair for particular reasons, this is the product that you must try. What I  do is that I just put on a small amount on my hands, and then I spread it in my hair. And also, I really love the smell of this one. You know when you have hair products that really smell like it contains so many chemicals? Gladly, it's not the case for this one. It has a fruity fragrance, but not overpowering enough to make you dizzy. If you've been itching to try what a dry shampoo is like, I highly suggest you try this one.

I love how it says "freshness boost" because it really does the job! So happy with this discovery. :)
Much love,
Nikki

Beauty Buy : Benefit's Dandelion Dew

Hello, happy friday to all! Lately, I've been noticing how I am fond of liking a certain look in different phases in my life. There was a time wherein I was so fond of this terrible eye makeup combo that I used to do which involves putting blue eyeshadow under my eyes and black eyeliner bwahahah, but that was several years ago, and  I don't plan to do that look anymore! When I went to college, there was a time wherein I would wear thick foundation to cover up my chicken pox marks. But more than anything, the look that I am more fond of more than ever is putting on a pop of color on my lips and just dabbing a bit of cheek tint on my cheeks for a natural flush. And when it comes to cheek tints, I am obsessed with Benefit's cheek tints. I've tried all of their cheek tints, but I've recently come across a new release here in the country- the Dandelion Dew. I'm such a sucker for tints or cream blushes since it's so much easier to apply and it looks more natural compared to the powder blushes. What can I say... I really am pretty obsessed with the color of this one. It's a soft baby pink that still looks natural. It's my favorite among all the tints from Benefit, and that's something big for me to say. And it's quite different from the previous tints as well, since this has a pump barrel and it is more sanitary and easy to use :)

Here's a picture of me wearing this cheek tint! I look really so chubby here, but it is what it is haha! Chubby cheeks for life :)

Much love,
Nikki

May Favorites

Hi! The month of may passed by so quick, and I can't believe that we're already halfway through the year - another year of getting older, and not so wiser haha. Let me just share some of my favorites for the past month.

Beauty
Mac Lady Danger
I've always wanted to buy this shade for quite a while already, and I finally bought it while we were shopping at Duty Free. I am a sucker for orange lippies, especially red-orangey ones, so it's a no brainer that I would really love this shade.

Music
Tame Impala's Yes I'm Changing
I really like the lyrics of this song. :)

There is another future waiting there for you
I saw it different, I must admit
I caught a glimpse, I'm going after it
They say people never change, but that's bullshit, they do

Yes I'm changing, can't stop it now

Book
Emerge by Tobie Eaton
I am and always will be fascinated with mermaids. I love this novel simply because it's a young adult romance novel dealing with a mermaid and a human - ugh I know it can be so typical. But I happen to really like this one.

Much love,
Nikki

3 Step Makeup Look

One of the things that I enjoy doing is actually editing videos. I decided to make a video showing my everyday make-up look, and I had it simplified to three steps. On some days, when I do exert more effort, it's more than three steps since I do add eyeliner sometimes. I use different face bases usually. Currently, I alternate between Nars Tinted Moisturizer, the Benefit BB cream, and the Belo BB cream :).  For my blush, I really love using cream blushes or tints since it's so easy to use and it really gives a natural look. Stila has these convertible colors that are really amazing to use on a daily basis. As for my lipstick, I recently tried FS Luscious Matte Lipstick and I'm so glad that I decided to try it out. It's really affordable, and is pretty good for a drugstore lipstick. Noticeably, I don't really do eye makeup or fix my eyebrows at all, teeheee I know I should! Someday, I just might do that when I know the proper technique of doing so. Hope you'll like this video. :)

Much love,
Nikki

Lippie Find : Stila Baci

Hello! If you've been noticing, my posts are more inclined towards beauty finds lately. I think this shift is very natural since these things are some of those that really excite me most. Finding a good budget buy, or finally getting my hands on a new beauty find is something I actually truly value, no matter how much silly that may sound to some. Let me share a new liquid lipstick shade from one of my favorite beauty brands, Stila - Stila Stay All  Day Liquid Lipstick in Baci.
The first liquid lipstick that I actually bought was Stila in the shade Fiery, which was a very gorgeous blue-red shade that I love. However, when I got my hands on this, I didn't really expect myself to be in love with this particular shade since I don't really know the right face makeup to go with this. Anyhow, I just tried this one day and I really love how subtle it looks, and it goes well even with my everyday natural  makeup look that I always go for. I look forward to the days when I'll be using this from now on hehe!

Much love,
Nikki
