Craving

My foot badly needs a new companion whether it be rain or shine and through thick and thin. And if my foot can talk and scream,it would be nothing but Yosi Samra!!!
I rarely buy shoes and if I do, I always make it a point that the shoes would be really worth my money.
Just to give  a brief overview on Yosi Samra and his creations, I would like to quote something from the official website:

YOSI SAMRA’s eponymous footwear line has the subtle ease and whimsy that makes girls swoon. A second-generation shoe impresario, Yosi grew up spending countless hours alongside his father in his shoe factory. In 2009, Yosi had the creative genius to streamline his contemporary collection, and expand on his now ubiquitous ballet fold up flat, the Samara. For the past two years, the samara line has expanded to an array of leathers, satins, patents, and suedes incorporating all color palettes from neutrals to bolds.
Passionate about his creative design process, Yosi stays true to his timeless style while incorporating the latest trends into each season’s selection. Yosi’s flats have become a staple in every woman’s closet. The ideal counter balance to killer heels, Yosi Samra’s fold up flats fit into a conveniently sized 4.5” x 3” package. Celebrity fans Hayden Panettiere, Audrina Patridge, Giuliana Rancic, Nicole Scherzinger, Minnie Mortimer, and Carmen Electra all adore their Samaras.

Some of the shoes that stole my heart:
Samara fold-up ballet flat in leather rose gold

Samara fold up ballet flat in teal tie dye

Samara fold up ballet flats in patent red

I'm hoping to engage my foot into a new commitment with these babies!

PLAYLIST

I got inspired to do this post because of Antsy  :)
So here is my very own playlist for this week.

1) "All I want for christmas is you" by Michael Bublé

This is the first time that I've listened to an album dedicated for christmas so it was quite a nice experience listening to several renditions of the classic christmas songs that we have known since childhood.

Michael Bublé is a great singer so I immediately downloaded his own christmas album and he did an awesome job with the songs so it is a must to listen to his album. But among the rest, the song "All I want for Christmas" is my favorite one maybe because it completely expresses my feelings right now.

Oh I just want you for my own
More that you could ever know

2)  "Have yourself a merry christmas" by She and him
Thanks to the new album of She and him, I finally had the chance to listen to Zooey Deschanel singing christmas songs.I actually like her and the fact that I've seen 500 days of summer just a few days ago triggers my girl crush towards her.I like her voice although her singing performance is not going to be mind-blowing, it's still pleasant to listen to.

3) "Without you" by Usher  Beat:David Guetta
I am obsessed with David Guetta right now and the one to blame is my dad for playing his cd while driving.I was able to renew my love for him which started a year ago.But my favorite song in his album,"Nothing but the Beat" would be definitely the song "Without you" by Usher!!!

I will never win this game without you.

4) Twilight saga: The Breaking dawn soundtrack
As embarrassing as this may seem, I am going to admit that I am the type of person who spends most of my time creating my very own world while listening to music. It's like I'm creating music videos in my head all the time! Teehee
And many people abhor Twilight , but I love  the saga and I don't care if people are disheartened by my choice! The Breaking Dawn has the most impressive soundtrack among the others but Twilight would come second for me :)
I am completely in love with almost all of the songs but I would  just like to share some of the most played songs in my ipad right now.

 a) "A thousand years" by Christina Perri
        I could just melt....

                                                I have died everyday
                                                 waiting for you
                                                 Darlin' don't be afraid
                                                 I have loved you
                                                 For a thousand years
                                                 I'll love you
                                                For a thousand more

b) "Turning Page" by Sleeping at Last
The song is just so romantic that it gives me butterflies.haha

I surrender for who I've been for who you are,
for nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart

c) "Flightless bird, American Mouth" by Iron & Wine
I want this song to be played on my wedding  .HIHIHI. perfect song!

                                               Have I found you
                                               flightless bird

d) "From Now" on by The features
Cool and lively song :)

Years went by and nothing changed
The love we shared just stayed the same

e) "Cold" by Aqualung and Lucy Schwartz- Quite an unhappy song for me but I actually like it.

These are just some of the songs or the soundtracks that I have been listening to this week.I hope that you may also take some time to listen to the songs that i have just shared. :)

MERRRRYYYYY CHRISTMAS!!!!

christmas tomorrow

Few weeks ago, I made a post saying that our family doesn't really celebrate christmas.I would just like to use this opportunity to say that we actually do,but maybe not in a traditional way.We don't even have a noche buena or a christmas tree like what I've said! But on a positive note, we do have christmas lights and a parol! SO yeeeyyyyy! :)))
We have a parol!

The lazy bum.
This has been my desk as long as I can remember!Haha

Just some random shot at the airport when I arrived home.

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CONTINUOUSLY READING MY BLOG EVEN IF I'M TALKING ABOUT NONSENSE THINGS.HAHA.

Realizations this week

Dear Self,

I am proud of you for staying strong amidst all the things and issues that are inside your head .When you came home last week, you brought all you worries and fear with you and it is now time to relinquish all of these things that diminish the positive vibe of christmas.
When you realized how things or a person can be so ephemeral, I hope that you would continue to cherish all the time that you have right now.It was never your fault that you did not end up with this person or not. It's hard not knowing how you really feel towards someone you care for .But you made someone happy for a long time and that is something worthy. And you might have even loved him in the  most unusual way.But right now, you are happy of where you are and the choices that you have made.Tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day, just like the title of your favorite film.Keep that in mind.
I am happy that you now know the consequences of what you have done.Give your best when it comes to academics and it is going to pay off sooner or later. What's done is done so stop whining or being sad about things.Just go for the killer next time and show what you are most capable of.
It's Christmas tomorrow and even if you don't have a christmas tree,at least you have a parol. Most importantly, you are with your loved ones who love you completely and selflessly. You may not have a traditional christmas celebration, but hey, you have your own way of celebrating it!Time flies so fast so it would be so much better if you treasure more of your time with your family while you are still here at home.

Sincerely yours,
Yourself

To-do during christmas

You have a tree and I don't.Haha

I am not the type of person who celebrates Christmas. Growing up, my family does not place that much emphasis on this special season during the year.Don't get me wrong, I would like to believe that I am religious but then, I am just not someone who participates much into activities that involve any air of christmas except for the required christmas party. My family does not even have noche buenas and a christmas tree since forever! Maybe it's just part of being a Chinese family who places more attention towards Chinese New Year. In fact, we would often sleep come Christmas!

When I was younger, I traditionally demanded a christmas present from my parents. If what i ask for is just too much, i would always defend myself by saying that it's going to be the birthday+Christmas+ new year+ (insert holidays in here) gift. And I usually ask for things that are really not necessary especially at a very young age.My dad in reply would tell me that  it's christmas for me everyday. He was absolutely right. What he meant by his statement is that I do not need to look forward to christmas for the gifts to come because I am already showered by so many blessings everyday. In fact, I no longer have a christmas wish list of some sort. The only thing I have is a Christmas to-do list.

So, I am going to share with you some of the things that I want to do during Christmas break!

1) I've been planning to come up with a video in which I would be the scriptwriter and also the director and editor at the same time.Did that just sound funny? Oh well, I have been trying to come up with several concepts that i would like to feature but then i am also struggling to find the time to balance it with my academics and my duties as a daughter. I just cannot wait to meet with my best friend so that we can talk about how it would go!

2) Aside from my attempt to my silly directorial debut, I am also going crazy thinking about the photo shoots that has to come soon. And since my dad would not allow me to have the camera here in Manila, all I have to do is wait until I reach home and take photos till the memory card gives up on me.Haha

3) Read, read, and read  a loooooooooooooooooooot so I won't be kicked out from the program.
4) Watch Koreanovelas and Japanese series to death. It's been so long since I last watched one series, and I have to catch up a lot and probably feel inspired by the cute love stories.

5) Get a lot of sleep in order for me to make up the sleepless nights.A lot of people tell me that I look different when i don't sleep since my eyes cannot lie at all. I aim to get more sleep so that my tired sad eyes can rest even for a short period of time.

I have just shared some of the things that I look forward to this christmas season.Like what I have said earlier, I am not the type who celebrates Christmas much but I very much believe that this is the time to be at home and spend quality time with my family. I cannot wait till school is over so that I can finally free myself from worries and get myself a break from the "independent" life that I am living, and spend my "not really a Christmas celebration" Christmas to where I really belong, and that is home.

Music to my heart

A lot of things happened this week and I'm quite disappointed that I was not able to post anything in my blog lately. And I'm afraid to say that next week is going to be much more difficult with all the reports that I have to deal with.I'll make it a point to really reward myself next week!

Anyhow, one of the things that continues to motivate me since last week is the new album of Florence and The Machine, "Ceremonials." I'm not a big fan of the English Indie Rock band before but I believe that this album made me appreciate their music into a whole new level.I have to say that their album features the best songs that I have heard this year.

My favorite song on the album is entitled "Breaking Down." Too bad my internet connection hates me right now and I won't be able to post the music videos here in my post! But going back to the acoustic version of the song, for me,this song starts of with what seems to be a fairytale tune.I can imagine a princess dancing on the garden of her palace while experiencing complete bliss. But then, once I heard the lyrics, what seemed to be my own illusion of a fairytale was replaced with a vision of reality itself. What's really beautiful is that I find myself immersed in the song because I think that the person in the song confronts oneself to the idea that there is the presence of a thing or a person that is frightening.Aside from that, there is the recognition that it is evident that it has always been present since from the very start, from childhood.I can really relate to the song because I am afraid of something but then the truth of the matter is that I don't do anything to come to terms with it.

All alone,

Even when I was a child,
I've always known,
There was something to be frightened of.
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/f/florence+and+the+machine/breaking+down_20983618.html ]
And I can see it coming from the edge of the room.
Creeping in the streetlight.
Holding my hand in the pale gloom.
Can you see it coming now?

Another song that I really like in the album is entitled "Shake It Out." I was actually looking for the lyrics of this song then I came across a lot of information that really praises the song and the music video, too! For me, the message that the song tries to say is that there are lot of things that keep us holding on to the past but we should not dwell on these things and focus instead on what we ought to do at the present time.
I think I'm being dramatic but the culprit of such emotions I'm feeling right now is because of the beauty that transpires from all of the songs in this album. I am truly in love with the songs. :)

And I've been a fool and I've been blind

I can never leave the past behind
I can see no way, I can see no way
I'm always dragging that horse around

And our love is pastured such a mournful sound
Tonight I'm gonna bury that horse in the ground
So I like to keep my issues strong
But it's always darkest before the dawn

I highly encourage anyone to listen to their songs and take a moment just to appreciate what the songs offer to us.Believe me when I say that this album is one of the best things that has been produced this year.
Have a great weekend!

Chocolate Fire

It took a while for me to able to write something for this post.Teheee
On November 9,a day before my 18th bday, Mommy J and I had a special date together with siobe Chelsea and Teazz (RR's family) haha.It was not officially my birthday party but it was rather a date to chocolate fire! Thanks to mommy J, we found where it was without any difficulty. When we arrived at the venue, there were only very few people there but the place was really nice.

I was taking picture from the very start but then the saleslady told me that it was prohibited so I was still lucky to capture some shots.Teeehee
We got so confused before ordering since there were so many chocolates!!

Frozen banana dipped in chocolate(mommy J's order)
(Pistachio dark chocolate)-my order

i honestly ordered two different chocolates. The other one is the mocha chocolate ganache and it was really delicious.
Moving on,here are some pictures of the second floor:

The bathrooms are so cute.I want my bathroom to have a painting on the door, too!

Cuteeey

We spent an hour just taking pictures.Bwahahaahahha

Thanks to the RR family for making this day extra spacial and sweet. And thank you for cooperating with my wish for us to all wear red during that day!

The Departures

(image from :http://www.traileraddict.com/content/regent-releasing/departures.jpg)
Once glance at the title and one might be deceived and taken with ideas dealing with transportation or simply leaving. But to clarify such misconceptions, “The Departures” or “Okoribitu” is a Japanese Film directed by Yojiro Takita, which depicts the peaceful departures of the dead through the help of the professional men who deal with assisting and grooming the corpses. With this unconventional concept of the film, which might be considered taboo for some, it successfully depicts the struggles of the main character with his life through the dead.
The opening scene of the film with Kobayashi saying the lines, “When I was a child, winter didn’t feel so cold. It’s nearly two months since I moved from Tokyo. It’s been an awkward time,” makes the opening of the film’s mood nostalgic for the character. During the latter part of the film, this part can also be seen. The story revolves around the character of Daigo Kobayashi, a cellist from Tokyo who faces hard times after his choir disbanded. Together with his wife, they move to the small town and live in the house that was given by Kobayashi’s mom. In his pursuit of finding another job, he comes to find a new job with a huge salary but the catch is that it involves assisting the “departed” or the corpses on their way to have their peaceful death. With that in mind, he tries to cover up the nature of his job to his wife. But then through his job, he comes to see his father for one last time at the end.
Masahiro Motoki, who plays as Kobayashi, portrays the character role with great emotions. He transcends from being the man who easily gets disgusted by seeing a corpse to a man who fights for this kind of profession that of which some people around him thinks is not “normal” job. There is this one comedy scene in the film wherein he was supposed to act as a corpse for a film and he acts in this hilarious way and he does so in an effortless way. Asides from that, the scenes where he prepares the corpse are the most beautiful scenes of the film since everything that that is involved such changing the clothes, washing the body, grooming, and applying make up, are done in a manner that is so gentle, and peaceful, and it is evident that there is so much respect that is given to the corpses.
Overall, this moving film is a definite tearjerker that touches every possible living soul. The film manifests the beauty of both the living and the dead. It makes any one realize how we tend to have low regard for unorthodox professions that we have not even come to think of. But the film portrays such great beauty on the job of the those who assist the departed ones because they take such great care to prepare the corpses fro their peaceful and solemn journey and for the loved ones to see them one last time at their most beautiful.

PS. I cried buckets while watching the film :(
But I hope you'll watch it too!

Supahh

So I decided to make a blog post every week that focuses on the things that made me really happy during that particular week.I'm coming up with several ways to reinvent my blog that focuses on how I would appreciate my life more and all the things that go along the way.
Here's what happened last week:
-Supersale Bazaar with Mamita Symba.
Despite the heavy rain during that day, we managed to come to the bazaar. The funny thing was that when we got to World Trade Center, there were lots of guys wearing black and it felt odd knowing that it was a bazaar. And we  realized that we were actually  lining up for this cosplay event.Haha
So when we found  the real bazaar  , we were both glad to see "Sophie's mom" since we heard good reviews about the cupcakes and the mochi balls.
Moving on to the bazaar, the entrance fee was 100php :( There were lots of people during that day which made it hard for us to move and choose clothes.
Honestly I was not impressed with the clothes during the bazaar and I was disappointed since I was expecting amazing clothes from the bloggers that I follow or maybe it's just because all the good clothes were already sold.Nonetheless, I think that the accessories and make-up were really good so here's what I bought:
Accessories from Keiko Collection :)

Nyx Lipsticks from The Make-up Store! The cosmetics are way more affordable than the ones being sold in beauty stores.
And this is me trying on the red lipstick at home just for the sake of doing so. *me doing the happy dance*

Hope you have a great weekend!
